phil&teds embrace new technologies to design and launch its latest product

With the release of the latest in its hugely popular ‘inline’ buggy series, innovative juvenile company, phil&teds has embraced new technologies to design and launch its latest product

.Inspired by the continuous flow of product development ideas pitched to the company by enthusiastic consumers, the company launched its online ‘ideas hothouse’ earlier this year. It’s become a central place for idea sharing user to user, where consumers can provide feedback, vote on ideas, participate in a forum, chat or just learn.

“From running twitter parties that were so successful that they crashed our server, to our ‘propeller heads programme whereby phil&teds fans can register to test product in advance of consumer release, we’re trying harder than ever to engage with customers via social media,” says web leader, Richard Shirtcliffe.
“Our online consumer ‘ideas hothouse’ has provided a goldmine of ideas and substantiated others we’ve had.

“The goal was to listen, sure, but we’ve been so rapt with the ideas that we’ve worked overtime to incorporate them into the new product already in development.” he said.
The explorer’s unique ‘one hand fast fold’ conquers the age old issue of meeting stroller folding complexity needing user simplicity. “Why ‘one hand fast fold’? Well - it’s based on a consumer insight that parents are time poor and short of hands!” says design leader Phil Brace.

“Long time fans of phil&teds inlines will love these features,” says Brace, “and they’ll be delighted that the explorer sports a brand new, much requested mode: child in the rear seat and infant on a car seat. So we now offer all the seven modes of travel that a parent needs!”

The explorer will be available worldwide from August.
