Hundreds of retailers were asked to vote for their favourite toy of 2010 in ten different categories. They were free to choose any product they liked and suppliers were unaware that voting was taking place. HABA was the clear favourite in the Baby Toy Category.
Tim Hawkins of Toy Shop UK said: “The fact that we don’t sell toys puts us in a unique position to publish a Christmas toy list that is produced without any concern for sales targets or pressure from suppliers. It is only because of our access to the opinions of such a large proportion of independent retailers that we are able to compile the most comprehensive balanced list of its kind anywhere.”
Martin Nield, HABA’s UK Manager, comments: “HABA is delighted to have won this award confirming that British consumers love the quality and traditional play value of our toys as much as their neighbours across the world.
“HABA’s commitment to the environment and its eco-friendly ethos is becoming more and more important to parents when choosing toys for their children, as is durability and longevity, not only in terms of quality but in play experience too.
“Many of our toys are designed to grow with the child and our team of ‘play inventors’ put a great deal of thought into every creation. They are particularly sensitive to the needs of children ensuring every aspect of play will stimulate and encourage them through every stage of their development. Winning this award is fabulous recognition for the team’s ability to come up with numerous beautiful and innovative toy ideas year after year.”
