Stunning new fabrics from top designer at Kiddy
Kiddy presented no less than six brand new gorgeous fabric designs on the worldwide stage at Kind & Jugend this month.
The striking yet highly commercial new looks are the result of extensive research and a free hand in creativity from top designer Carola Heer, Senior Textile Designer who has been working in the baby industry business for ten years this autumn.
The ‘Star’ and ‘Bubble’ lines are really a celebration of the recently launched new kiddy brand identity which incorporates a star surrounded by a circle as its main motif. Both encapsulate a modern, forward-thinking and positive outlook within a safe environment. Kiddy has found that in the UK (and Spain), parents prefer deeper colours, which Carola has developed with contrasting highlights.
‘Star’ uses the bright kiddy green on black, while ‘Bubble’ is a jovial, modern fabric that brings together a lively coral colour with soft green. Again black features as a canvas and ensures the vibrancy of the design really stands out.
Four of the other new designs draw their inspiration from Nature. Using natural yet powerful tones of single colours, Carola has produced very striking, modern and highly practical designs.
There’s a soft grey blue (Niagara), brown red (Henna), a soft green (Oasis) and a crimson (Rumba). Creative stitching gives each seat a pleasing, stylish appeal.
But it’s not just the look of the fabric that’s so new. Carola has investigated many different forms of textiles that are most comfortable, soft, breathable and easy to clean. In all the new ranges she has chosen a tightly woven functional fabric (used for sportswear) which gives a kind of ‘spring’ to the seat, so it is soft yet durable, and machine washable at 30°C. Combined with Kiddy’s existing Thermotex fabric which ensures good air circulation, this is an ideal combination for children to sit on.
