Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix Hits Three Million

The Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix, one of Maxi-Cosi’s most popular infant carriers, has just reached a major milestone of three million units assembled, enough to fill 6,000 18-foot lorries.

Since its introduction in 2003, the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix has been a popular choice for parents across Europe, thanks to its high safety rating, well-padded design and ease of use. It was the first car seat with ISOFIX to receive a five star safety rating from consumer safety organisations.

On average Dorel currently manufactures 24,000 of the infant carriers each month, with 2008 bringing a huge surge in demand for the seat, where as many as 13,500 units were assembled per week.

Frank Matheij, Team Leader, Maxi-Cosi Europe, Supply Chain Manufacturing, said: “The CabrioFix has proven to be a huge success and I’m happy I’ve experienced the moment we reached the three million mark. I believe the assembly line for the seat will be here for many years, heading towards the four million mark!”
