UV DANGER FOR KIDS IN THE CAR

Bibs and Stuff is keen to raise awareness of the severe consequences the sun can have for children travelling in the car

Bibs and Stuff is keen to raise awareness of the severe consequences the sun can have for children travelling in the car.  Many parents are unaware that harmful UV rays can penetrate through car windows, putting their children in danger of serious conditions such as skin cancer and photoaging.  Although UVB rays are effectively blocked by glass, car windows have been proven to let in more than 60 percent of UVA rays. When this is added to the daily accumulation of sun exposure, children can be seriously at risk.

One way of protecting children is by using a sun shade for the car window that will shield occupants from the harmful UVA rays.  The UV Alert Shade from Brica does just that, helping to filter UVA rays, and in addition it cleverly alerts parents to the current UV level – the tab at the bottom of the Shade changes to light blue when low UV levels are present and dark blue when levels are high.  The UV Alert Shade also keeps children more comfortable in the car by shielding them from bright sunlight and glare.  When not needed, the Shade rolls up with an easy one-push release button and with its two attachment options, it fits most vehicle windows.

With the UV Alert Shade constantly highlighting the current level of UV rays coming through the car window, it is hoped that this product will make parents more aware of the everyday dangers posed by the sun.
