BRITAX RÖMER booster seat winner in Germany Stiftung Warentest

The BRITAX RÖMER KIDFIX II XP SICT with SecureGuard Technology scored the highest test results in Group 2/3

German consumer organisation Stiftung Warentest and ADAC have rated the KIDFIX II XP SICT as the best child seat in Group 2/3 in their June 2016 child car seat tests. Three other Britax Römer models were awarded with 'good‘ ratings, i.e. 4 out of 5 points, including the KIDFIX II XP and DISCOVERY SL.

The KIDFIX II XP SICT is a highback booster seat with the Britax Römer XP-PAD that offers unique frontal impact protection for older children. The seat features the new SecureGuard technology, a clip that adds an extra 4th contact point to the standard 3-point adult seat belt. This 4th attachment point helps to keep the adult lap belt in an ideal position over the pelvic bones and to reduce abdominal forces in the event of a frontal collision by up to 35%.*

Over the past year, Britax Römer received six “good” scores and had four test winners for all six Britax Römer Group 2/3 seats that were tested by ADAC. The KIDFIX II XP and KIDFIX II XP SICT performed very well in ADAC’s new testing environment, with the KIDFIX II XP receiving a “very good” (5 out of 5 points) in the “handling” category. The DISCOVERY SL is a strong ISOFIX highback booster in group 2/3 that provides exceptional safety and good value for money.

Excellent scores in hazardous substances
Britax is dedicated to testing for hazardous chemicals to ensure that the products stay beyond legal requirements as part of “Made with Care,” Britax’s philosophy to provide the highest quality of products to their customers. The company is making strong efforts to excel in reducing harmful chemicals in their car seats and working with external partners to monitor the chemicals in their products.

“We are pleased that our products continue to receive very good scores when tested for chemicals in ADAC and Stiftung Warentest. Our decision to move the majority of our car seat cover manufacturing to Europe is another step in our commitment to tightening quality control and developing the safest possible products for children – whether it is protecting children in accidents or from elements that come into contact with their skin. We are pleased that our new fabrics that were tested for the first time by Stiftung Warentest received such excellent scores in hazardous substances,” said Moritz Walther, Marketing Director Europe for Britax.
