Britax takes a look at ‘Family Time’

A recent ‘Family Time’ report, commissioned by child mobility experts, Britax, has found that 60 per cent of parents prefer to spend quality time with their children at home rather than going out together

Almost half (45%) of the 2,000 parents surveyed cited the amount of equipment needed to get out and about with the children, including pushchairs, changing bags, bottles and all weather gear, as a de-motivator to heading outside. It also reveals that transport, be it via public transport or in the car, is a constant source of stress to parents as they worry about keeping children content and safe on their journeys.

The research, which was conducted in October 2014, coincides with Britax’s recent rebrand, which focuses on enabling everyday family freedom and making exploring the great outdoors as a family simpler, safer and stress free for parents and children alike.

“We believe that becoming a parent is really about becoming yourself and that every family has the right to live their life to the full” comments Amy Voller, Brand Director EMEA from Britax. “We understand how challenging this can be for modern families however so are committed to making travelling and exploring with children as easy, safe and as stress free as possible. That’s why we will always go far beyond what’s required and won’t stop until we’ve achieved the safest travel solutions for outdoor family adventures.”

With the needs of 21st century families ever changing and evolving, Britax recognises that it is important now more than ever to listen to the needs and concerns of real parents and develop products that fit into their lifestyles to make family life easier.

This central ethos has led to the development of a series of new products designed to adapt and suit the needs of individual families.  Britax’s new Group 1-2-3 combination seat, ADVANSAFIX, is the first multistage car seat using ISOFIX connectors that gives parents the choice to keep children in a five-point harness up to 25kg, designed with busy families in mind. Suitable for children aged 9 months up to approximately 12 years (from 18kg to 36 kg), the seat adapts and grows with the child, offering parents the option of combining two seats into one and offering great value for money for busy, time poor families.

Launching in December 2014, the Group 1 KING II ATS offers parents complete peace of mind when travelling from the offset. It includes a patented tensioning system for a car's 3-point seat belt and a brand new Active Tensioning System (ATS) which retracts any slack in the child seat's 5-point safety harness and intelligently warns parents with a light and sound if the harness is undone or no longer at the correct tension. This leaves parents assured that their children are secure whilst travelling so they can be free of worry and focus their attention on the road ahead.
