Gear up for nursery fair

HINF - the UK’s only event to reach the industry’s trade and find out the latest information

With just a few weeks to go until the UK’s only baby trade show – Harrogate International Nursery Fair – the event offers not only an unprecedented opportunity to source the latest new baby products; but to discover the latest industry information too.

This year the show already has over 120 companies signed up to exhibit, with new bookings coming in daily. Over 50 of these are brand new to the show with never seen before product ranges; and overall more than 200 brands will be represented.

Of course, if you are seeking the latest new products, then the show certainly has everything you could possibly imagine from wheeled goods and cars seats, nursery furniture and safety equipment, to clothing, pregnancy accessories, toys and gifts. In addition, numerous exhibitors have exclusive show offers with generous discounts on orders placed at the show, free delivery, free gifts and free POS.

Once again, the Baby Products Association is using its expansive knowledge and experience to inform the industry on pertinent subjects. With new child car seat regulations having just come into place, there is considerable consumer confusion, enhanced by misleading media reports, and a Car Seat Safety Area at the show, hosted by a number of leading car seat manufacturers, aims to educate and inform both retailers selling such products and anyone with an interest in this sector. These companies will also be able to give general safety advice regarding this type of product.

The trade association has also organised an extremely informative Seminar Programme which will not only be of interest to manufacturers and retailers striving to understand the market and how to target their customers; but provides invaluable advice and information to anyone who has a new product idea that they would like to launch to market.

Speakers this year include Anthony Williams of leading market research company GfK; Nadia Khaldi of media planning specialist company Generation Media; top UK mummy blogger Harriet Shearsmith of Toby & Roo; intellectual property expert Sara Ludlam of legal firm 3Volution; and Phil Stanton of D2M which specialises in product design, packaging and getting them successfully launched.

Also, for any manufacturers and suppliers who would like to tap into the thriving Chinese baby products market, Athena Gong of CBME China will explain purchase behaviour and trends of the Chinese consumer; and also the various distribution channels and how to understand better on working with Chinese partners.
