Hippychick raises over £11,000

Bridgwater based business, Hippychick, a company committed to the discovery of nursery accessories and toys designed to make life easier for parents have raised £11,029 for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK

Make-A-Wish Foundation® is a charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.

The amount was raised through various fund-raising activities, as well as from profits derived from two of the company’s top-selling products - the Hippychick Hipseat, a back-supporting belt with a perch for toddlers to sit on and designed to take strain away from the back, as well as the iconic ‘Wheelybug’ ride-on toy. Many customers also made voluntary donations at the on-line checkout.

Two members of the Hippychick team performed a daredevil feat in a bid to boost bequests.  The Key Accounts team, Tracy and Michelle, both sky-dived from a plane at 15,000 feet, raising a total of £1,500 and a swear box installed in the office contributed a surprising amount to the coffers!

Julia Minchin, Hippychick founder and Managing Director commented: ‘We have always been committed to charitable concerns and given the nature of our business,
Make-A-Wish seemed like a perfect fit.  We are absolutely thrilled at the sum we have raised for such a great cause.  Huge thanks are due to all of our staff, Michelle and Tracey in particular, who went way beyond the call of duty with their efforts, as well as to all of our Hippychick customers.’

Claire Escott, Representative of Make-A-Wish who accepted the cheque said: “We are thrilled that Hippychick raised an incredible £11,029 through various activities for Make-A-Wish. This year we want to grant 1,000 wishes so their support really is invaluable.”
