It is an exciting week for two of the UK’s most innovative mumpreneurs as they prepare to compete in the final stages of the Baby Show for Trade’s ‘Rattle to Riches’ competition. The live events, which run throughout the upcoming trade show at Olympia, will have those in the nursery world on the edge of their seats.
Having been one of the winners last year Di Mayze of BuggyTug is no stranger to success and is thrilled to be back this year. She has flown through the early stages of the competition with her latest innovation, the TugTrio (a set of three safety straps for the buggy, toddler and teddy bear). Competing alongside her is friend and fellow mumpreneur, Louise Guinda the brains behind Safe Dreams. She is be hoping to impress the judges with her new invention, Safebreathe™ Hoppy and Patch (a pair of cuddly toys made of the same breathable Safebreathe™ fabric as her original invention, the Cot Wrap).
Set in an exciting Dragons Den style these two mothers and inventors will be presenting to a live audience at the Rattle to Riches events which will take place every day of the exhibition (with Louise pitching on Sunday 16th and Di on Tuesday 18th). Visitors are invited to watch the fifteen finalists get the ultimate adrenaline-charged opportunity to present their brand to a panel of top buyers and industry experts, including John Lewis, Mothercare and Boots, to name just a few!
Di Mayze commented, ‘I couldn’t be more excited to have been selected again this year and to be competing alongside Louise is fantastic. Unveiling the new product is exciting enough but to be recognised in these awards again, is the icing on the cake!’
Louise added: ‘I am confident both mine and Di’s products are original and welcome additions to the nursery industry’s safety market and am hoping the judges think so too! With any luck we’ll both be walking away with a trophy this weekend!’
BuggyTug:
BuggyTug is the UK’s first branded pram wrist strap. It was invented by mum and entrepreneur, Di Mayze of Nottingham, who first launched the product at the Baby Show for Trade in the autumn of 2010. It attaches (like a luggage tag) to any single handled pram and to the wrist of the carer ensuring two never become separated. Her latest innovation, the TugTrio set, which includes a BuggyTug, TotTug and TeddyTug, will be unveiled at The Baby Show for Trade 2011.

Safe Dreams:
The Safe Dreams Cot Wrap and Safebreathe™ toys are the invention of mum and entrepreneur, Louise Guinda (33), from Aberdeen. Louise developed the Safebreathe fabric after finding her newborn baby blue in the face and struggling for breath while pressed against the traditional bumper which lined his cot. Her latest additions to the brand, the Cot Toys ‘Hoppy’ the Rabbit and ‘Patch the Dog’ were launched at Kind und Jugend 2011.
