Concept & Innovation Awards finalists announced

Five budding inventors have been chosen by a panel of nursery industry expert ‘dragons’ as finalists in the Baby Products Association’s (BPA) Concept and Innovation Awards.

Robert Anslow, BPA managing director, comments: “Having been presented with numerous diverse and innovative product ideas, from merely a concept to those which are almost ready for launch, the judges had the difficult job of choosing the entries which they felt stood out in terms of safety, viability as well as filling a recognised gap in the market place. This year we have some extremely interesting finalists.”

The three finalists chosen in the ‘Innovation Award’ category are Susan Greeney and Jodie Bartle with their Yoogobaby Inflatable Travel Cot; The Stairgate Company Ltd with a non-trip pressure fit stair gate and Karen Welman with a range of 37 Degrees temperature control baby clothing.

In the ‘Concept Award’ category, Michael and Camilla Stock’s Twist and Shake Bottle idea was chosen alongside an entry by Sonia Day for an innovative new baby toothbrush design called Tooth Ticklers.
All of the finalists will be displaying their product design ideas on the BPA’s Concept and Innovation stand at the Baby Show for Trade at London Olympia from 16-18 October 2011. The winners will be announced and presented with Awards during a ceremony at the show which takes place at 1300hrs on Monday 17th October.
