New EN Safety Standard for Baby/Child Sleep Bags Announced

Retailers should be aware that a new European Safety Standard has today been announced for Child Sleep Bags. The new standard, EN16781:2018, replaces the existing British Safety Standard for Baby Sleep Bags.

Leading the way in Sleep Bag Safety, The Gro Company have been working closely with the relevant bodies throughout the development of the new European Safety Standard, and so have implemented immediate enhancements to their product and packaging at the point of manufacture to ensure that Grobag maintains its position as best in class for Sleep Safety.

Rob Pascoe of The Gro Company said:
“It is so important that retailers, and anyone involved with selling baby sleep products, are aware that there are Safety Standards for Baby Sleep Bags. As an industry we should be able to advise new parents on what to buy, and have absolute confidence that the products we are selling are in line with the latest safety developments.”

A recent consumer survey showed that 93% of parents would not buy a Baby/Child Sleep Bag if they knew that it did not meet the relevant safety standard, and that 80% of parents perceived The Gro Company to be the safest brand of Baby Sleep Bags*. The Gro Company are passionate about maintaining this trust and working with retailers to offer high quality products that ensure repeat custom from parents as their child grows.
