Shnuggle are honoured to announce their partnership with Belfast based baby charity TinyLife to help offer additional support to families who have had babies in neo natal care.
With November being renamed ‘Premvember’ by TinyLife each year in a campaign designed to increase funds and awareness of the work the charity carries out, Shnuggle are helping to support this vital work via product donations.

TinyLife is Northern Ireland's premature and vulnerable baby charity, dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies. The charity is committed to providing a range of support services that meet the growing needs of families of premature and sick babies in Northern Ireland and also supports vital research to ensure that every pregnancy has the best chance of a healthy outcome and a healthy baby.

There are huge financial implications to families with premature babies and those needing additional support depending on their family situation. One of the ways Shnuggle is supporting these families is through product donations to all seven neo natal units throughout Northern Ireland. These are managed by Tiny Life’s Family Support Team who work directly with families offering support from the time their baby is born in the neo natal unit.
Shnuggle are donating brand new products, such as the Shnuggle Bath, Shnuggle Moses Baskets and other essential baby items which is of paramount importance due to some babies still needing treatment or equipment when they are discharged. Knowing the product they have been given is new and safe provides reassurance to those families.

There are eight family support officers working part time in the Family Support Team. The Family Support Team make weekly visits to the neonatal unit to liaise with hospital staff and make themselves available to mums, dads and other family members. The support officers are available to offer support if families need someone to talk to who understands the stress and anxiety associated with having a baby or babies in intensive or special care.

They are available as a support network to families from the start of their journey in the neo natal units until the baby is of pre-school age, signposting families to important services provided by TinyLife and other organisations.
Services that the Family Support team can offer include support during a families’ time in the neo natal unit complementing the medical support being given, Breast Pump Loan Service, Parent Support Groups, Baby Massage and sensory classes.
With an average of six premature babies born every day in Northern Ireland arriving as early as 24 weeks and weighing as little as 1lb, the charity is close to Shnuggle’s heart. Founders Adam and

Sinead Murphy’s first baby was born with medical conditions that required neo natal care and so they understand the importance of this type of support first hand.

Tiny Life’s Premvember campaign runs every year during November and this year will be held Friday 1st November – Sat 30th Nov. The campaign encourages people to host a tea party or event of their choice, at home or work during the month of November to help raise funds and awareness of TinyLife and premature birth in Northern Ireland. Every penny raised goes to supporting families in NI.

It's really easy to take part, just register online www.buytickets.at/TinyLife for your fundraising pack containing downloadable posters, invites and bunting.
