Turn off the lights

Last chance to enter Love Energy Savings Awards with ‘night out’ cash prize at stake

There’s less than a week left for companies to enter the Love Energy Savings Awards, with £500 and £600 cash prizes for businesses of all sizes who are doing their bit to be more energy efficient.

It’s the second year that business energy comparison specialists Love Energy Savings have run the awards, with the success of the inaugural event securing sponsorship from nPower Business, ScottishPower, EDF Energy, and British Gas. Winners are encouraged to use the prize money to “turn the lights out” by taking their teams for a night out

The four categories open this year are:

Stars of the Future – for businesses who have introduced an innovative idea that has helped to save energy and cut bills, sponsored by nPower Business.

SME Saver – even the smallest of changes can make a big difference when saving energy, sponsored by ScottishPower.

Super Saver – for big businesses that have gone the extra mile to become more energy efficient, sponsored by EDF Energy.

Innovative Saver – for businesses who have implemented a new and exciting initiative within their organisation that has helped to cut energy waste, sponsored by British Gas.

Nominations opened on World Environment Day, 5 June, and close on Friday, 29 July. Businesses can enter here or email

Love Energy Savings MD Phil Foster said: “The awards were originally established to celebrate the hard work of businesses across the country for their commitment to energy efficiency. “Securing sponsorship from such high profile names in the energy industry in only the second year is part of our ambitious plans to make them grow year-on-year.

“We want businesses to be rewarded for their efforts to become greener. With their winnings, we are hoping that companies will continue their energy saving journey with a blackout event, both to raise awareness of how important it is to be eco-friendly and to celebrate their win with their staff.”

“We were overwhelmed by the success of last year’s Awards; the calibre of the entrants was extremely impressive and it was very difficult to select the winners.

“So if you pride yourself on being an energy-efficient organisation, or are changing the way you do things in your workplace, we want to hear from you. Big or small, we’re all about championing the changes that are going to make a real difference.”
